Dr. Adams’ first interest in Physical Therapy began while she was in high school; where in her freshman year, she sustained an injury to her knee while playing soccer. She required reconstructive surgery and then after, she participated in Physical Therapy for months in order to return to full play. From there, she knew that she was interested in helping others get back to their hobbies/sports. Dr. Adams attended University of the Sciences in Philadelphia for both her undergraduate Bachelor’s degree and then continued to receive her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2016.
After graduating, Dr. Adams first started treating in skilled nursing for about 8 months before she decided to move to outpatient physical therapy. She has now been treating in outpatient PT in Delaware for 4.5 years. She has gained experience in treating all musculoskeletal disorders, treating post-surgical patients, and working with neurological disorders. Recently, Dr. Adams has completed a certification to treat vestibular and concussion through the American Institute of Balance. To assist with her treatment programs, she utilizes KT / Dynamic taping and Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM).
Dr. Adams lives locally in Delaware with her husband. In their free time, they enjoy hanging out with their friends and family playing either board or yard games. She enjoys reading murder mystery books and recently, she has sparked interest in painting.
